The dish
Three corn tortillas, each holding two-or-three pieces of shrimp lightly battered (Mexican corn-flour-and-rice-flour blend) and flash-fried for crackle. Topped with shredded white cabbage, chipotle crema (Mexican sour cream blended with chipotle paste), fresh cilantro, and a half-lime.
The Baja-style coastal taco — bright, sharp, the dish you order when you’ve decided you want a break from the slow-braised richness of the rest of the menu.
Why we make it this way
The shrimp is small, fresh, and battered to order — never pre-battered or held under heat. The chipotle crema is made fresh weekly. The cabbage is shredded fine, not coarse — coarse cabbage overpowers the shrimp.
House rule
The first taco with just the lime. The second with the chipotle crema and cabbage. The third with all three. Each version tastes different.
