Live Mexican music · Al Barsha

Mariachi night in Dubai.

A three-piece band. Real Mexican songs. No cover, no karaoke, no playlist filler. Mariachi night at Querida is the closest thing Dubai has to a Mexico City supper room — and the only halal, alcohol-free version of the format anywhere in the city.

  • Live · Three-piece band
  • No cover · Regular menu
  • Halal · No alcohol
  • Custom serenades available

What a mariachi night feels like.

The room is small — twenty-six seats. The lights drop a notch. The band sets up against the back wall: vihuela, guitarrón, trumpet. They warm up with a couple of chords. Then they walk into the dining room and start with a tune everyone knows from childhood — Cielito Lindo, or maybe El Rey — and within thirty seconds the whole room has stopped eating.

That's the format. Six or seven songs in a set, two sets across the night, with breaks for the band to walk between tables. If you've booked a serenade for a birthday or an anniversary, the band comes to your table for one song, holds the gaze, plays the song through. Most guests cry. Some film it. A few do both.

The food keeps coming the whole time. Asada tacos, chilaquiles, churros con chocolate. Agua fresca refilled by the jug. The kitchen runs on its normal cadence — the music runs alongside it.
